Billing statements

Do not automatically send statements on a predetermined schedule. Ideally send daily but only if the insurance payment is past 30 days (with electronic billing some offices send if past 20 days), otherwise it can confuse patients. Send after 30 days (or as soon as 20 days) with a brief note on what's going on. Keeping patients informed is part of good customer service.
