The responsibility of the scheduling coordinator is to maintain a productive and efficiently scheduled appointment book. A productive schedule means achieving the production goals for both operative and hygiene schedules on a weekly basis so that the practice meets or surpasses the monthly production goal. The scheduling coordinator should stay connected to every patient who comes to the office and has a treatment plan. The scheduling coordinator should have the viewpoint that every patient should get through and complete his or her treatment plan. A thorough knowledge of who can come in on short notice, and who is reliable and who is not should be one of the basic skills of the scheduling coordinator.
