The two basic rule of statistical management are as follows:
a. If statistics are going down drastically something changed. Figure out what changed and get the actions/functions reverted back to how they were before.
b. If numbers are going up steeply figure out what caused the numbers to go up and reinforce those actions/functions.
There is more to statistical management that that such as when the numbers are going up or down more subtly but for fairly dramatic increases or decreases the above is pretty much it in a nutshell.
