Probation Periods

Most states are At-Will, so there’s little benefit to having a probationary period. If you tell an employee he or she is on "90-day probation," that can create an implied agreement to keep the person for at least 90 days. Only place time parameters when benefits such as vacations or bonuses kick in for a new employee.
