Affordable Dental Practice Management Consulting

Meet Your Dental Consultant: Kevin Tighe

With over 30 years of hands-on experience in the dental industry, I bring practical, proven strategies to help practices like yours grow efficiently and sustainably.

d4779eaf 35ef 4625 9e90 a3990e04e4fa thI founded Cambridge Dental Consultants, specializing in marketing, sales, and team development. I became a nationally recognized seminar speaker, presenting in nearly every state, and contributed to early online dental communities—Dentaltown founder Howard Farran even invited me to write for the Farran Report, the newsletter that preceded Dentaltown.

I've authored over 100 articles for leading publications including Dental Economics, DentistryIQ, AGD Impact (the Academy of General Dentistry's magazine), Dentaltown magazine, and others.

I'm an active voice on Dentaltown with over 20,000 posts, sharing real-world advice that resonates with thousands of dentists.

My background includes attending private school in New York City and Boston University (liberal arts), followed by extensive specialized management training geared toward dental practices. I've also created comprehensive dental office manuals used by practices nationwide.

Beyond dentistry, I have a deep appreciation for the arts. I'm a professional photographer whose work has appeared in Getty Images and Rolling Stone, and I'm continually building my skills on piano, guitar, ukulele, and harmonica. Proud father of two and grandfather of two.

Life took a meaningful pause in recent years. In 2021, my mother's husband passed away. Six months later, she relocated from the vibrant Washington DC area—where she'd enjoyed book clubs, opera, marathon running into her 60s, and cycling around the world into her 80s—to be closer to family. Tragically, shortly after arriving, she broke her hip. Over the next 2½ years, I served as her medical power of attorney and advocate, managing multiple surgeries, long-term care, finances, and insurance matters until she passed peacefully on St. Patrick's Day 2024, surrounded by love and in touch with family and friends.

The following year was devoted to settling the estate, restoring personal balance, and tending to my other successful business interests. As that chapter closed, I returned to participating actively on Dentaltown—and quickly realized how much I missed consulting.

Now, I'm eager to return on a very limited, highly personalized basis. I take these relationships seriously; they're far more than transactional. Many clients from my early Cambridge days remain good friends today. I've watched their children grow up, join the practice as associates, and build their own successes. My focus is building that same trusted, long-term partnership with you.

My Ironclad Results Guarantee

You'll recoup your investment through increased collections—and then some—while improving profitability without raising your overhead percentage.

In other words, my strategies are designed to grow your practice efficiently and sustainably. If we fully implement the plan and your increased collections don't at least equal your investment within 12 months, I'll refund the difference—or continue working with you at no additional cost until they do.

How Your Dental Practice Management Consulting Service Works

Your dental practice management service is primarily virtual (unlimited phone/email support, regular strategy sessions, weekly stats reviews, and daily/weekly team check-ins as needed), with in-person off-site visits recommended when required for observations, training, or hands-on implementation.

Why This Flexible Model Works So Well

  • Virtual support allows quick, ongoing guidance without disrupting your daily schedule.
  • Optional in-person off-site visits (unlimited, scheduled for mutual convenience) provide focused team training and systems rollout when needed, while keeping me fresh and energized as your consultant by minimizing on-site wear and tear.
  • Getting the doctor and staff away from the office environment during these visits offers key benefits, such as escaping phones, interruptions, and daily distractions for undivided focus; fostering open discussions and team building in a neutral space; gaining fresh perspectives outside routine surroundings; and enhancing engagement and retention of new strategies without operational disruptions back at the practice.
  • Direct staff access (with you CC'd for transparency) fosters open communication and rapid progress.
  • Keeps overhead low for you while delivering maximum impact—no full-time hire risks.

This modern approach combines the best of remote efficiency and targeted in-person support, tailored to your practice's needs.

A Baker's Dozen

I choose to work with only a baker's dozen (about 12) clients at any given time.

This isn't about exclusivity—it's about effectiveness and presence. By keeping my practice small, I can be fully engaged with each client: diving deep into your unique challenges, providing relentless follow-up, and ensuring real, lasting implementation that sticks. It also allows me to stay true to what matters most to me—family, community, and my own well-being—so I bring my best energy to every conversation and offsite visit.

You'll never encounter sales tactics here—no high-pressure pitches, no "heart sells," and rarely even a direct ask to sign up. My fees are straightforward and clearly listed because I believe they should be affordable for serious practice owners. More importantly, any investment you make should deliver a clear return: increased collections and profitability that compounds month after month, year after year. (Think of it as planting beans and harvesting bushels—common sense.)

That's the usual goal, but not always the only one. Sometimes clients come to me for lower stress, better work-life balance, or simply more time off—and those outcomes often go hand-in-hand with stronger systems and higher efficiency anyway.

If there's a genuine fit and a true need, things tend to move forward organically after our discovery call. I'm here for the clients where consulting feels meaningful on both sides. If that sounds like you, let's talk—no obligations, just an honest conversation.

No Paperwork – Just a Simple Start

One common feedback from past clients was the hassle of lengthy signup forms—for the doctor, associates, and especially coordinating staff to complete and return theirs.

With my approach, there's no paperwork for you to manage.

By the time we begin, I'll already have the essential details about you and the practice from our discovery call and discussions.

For the team, instead of forms, I'll schedule short, individual phone interviews with each staff member (at convenient times for your schedule). These conversations are simply to gather basic information—like their role, how long they've been with the practice, and their day-to-day functions—so I can understand the team dynamics from everyone's perspective.

Doctors often tell me this step alone helps build immediate rapport and open communication with the staff, creating a strong foundation right from the start.

Practice Support Options

Dental Practice Management Support – $2,500 for First 90 Days

$2,500 Initial Investment (covers first 90 days) • $750/month thereafter
(Month-to-month after initial period • Cancel anytime with 30 days notice)

assist as your accountability partner, helping drive consistent systems implementation, staff performance, and measurable growth while you stay fully in control, call all the shots, and focus on what you do best—patient care. I'm here to help you achieve your practice vision by chasing down the management details and follow-ups that most owners don't have time—or don't want—to handle themselves.

This is primarily a phone/email service to keep things efficient, affordable, and low-disruption. Most clients find this level of support is all they need for sustained results.

Includes:

  • Unlimited phone/email support, including direct staff access (doctor CC’d)
  • Weekly tracking and detailed review of key practice stats (production, collections, new patients, hygiene reappointment, A/R) with written commentary and action plan
  • Daily or weekly check-ins with front desk/team for coaching, issue resolution, and policy adherence
  • Regular strategy sessions with you (weekly when possible, minimum bi-weekly) to align on goals, remove bottlenecks, and drive growth
  • Ongoing implementation and customization of proven office systems—training manuals, job descriptions, apprenticeships, budgets, and written policies/procedures
  • Staff accountability through task assignment, follow-up, performance guidance, and Job Duty Reviews as needed

Optional À La Carte In-Person Visits

(Only if/when you feel they're needed—many clients never require them)

  • $2,500 per 1.5-day visit (focused team training, observations, systems rollout, staff meetings)
  • Plus actual travel expenses (billed at cost—no markup)
    • I fly coach class
    • Stay at mid-range hotels (Marriott price point)
    • Prefer rideshare/public transit or your team’s assistance to avoid car rental when possible

Visits are scheduled for mutual convenience and priced this way to keep expectations realistic and costs predictable.

Most clients see this flexible model as the ultimate long-term solution for stability, efficiency, and sustained profitability.
